However, the emphasis on mental health workouts is fairly recent.

Mental health experts recommend various exercises for alleviating the symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health-related conditions. At Ophellie Fit, we offer a comprehensive mental health workout program comprising multiple therapies and exercises. These include:

Cardio Training

Several studies have outlined the benefits of aerobic exercises (cardio training) for mental health. Engaging in cardio training stimulates the body’s neurochemical processes, enhancing the production of endorphins and reducing the number of stress hormones present in the body. Aerobic exercises serve as mood boosters, helping individuals experience increased feelings of optimism and relaxation after the workout.

Yoga Therapy

Yoga is a popular meditation and relaxing technique used to improve mindfulness. Yoga psychotherapy, specifically, focuses on treating the symptoms of mental health disorders and illnesses and is facilitated by a licensed professional. Our mental health workouts incorporate yoga therapy to modulate clients’ stress response systems. The exercises in our workouts help individuals build a deeper connection with themselves and become more attuned to their surroundings via multiple self-soothing techniques.

High-Intensity Interval Training

Also known as HIIT, high-intensity interval training is a form of cardio training. The difference is that this method of exercising requires short durations of intense physical activity and takes less time to complete. Think of these as shorter, more focused workouts. We incorporate HIIT in our mental health workout program to help individuals improve their concentration and focus. These exercises are paired with other workout strategies, providing clients with an enhanced workout experience.

Despite increased awareness, there’s still a social stigma attached to various mental health conditions. Our mental health workouts aim to change this, encouraging people to seek help for their mental well-being.
